I use a bleeder valve on my '98 1.8tq A4. I works and I do have a boost and
Air/fuel gauge. Boost tapers at higher RPM just like stock but I set it for
about 11psi max. It fluctuates greatly with temperature as you would expect
but it has been a temporary measure for me because I am installing a larger
turbo and want to buy a chip when I get it and the other mods I have planned.
This will happen in the coming month or two.
If you want hassle free boost - get the chip. You can buy the Pflow from
Blaufernugen for $129 if cost is an issue.
Hope it helps.
