If the V8 is anything like all the Audis that came before it (and I'd
bet that it is), the front door switches will often have a second
connector to switch another, independent circuit.
Every switch has one connector, to ground the interior light circuits
when the door is opened (to the body of the switch which is screwed into
the body of the car). The separate wire on the front doors does other
stuff, like activate the stupid chimes, deactivate the power windows,
etc. Both wires are simply switched grounds, switched by the opening of
the door allowing them to contact the metal switch body. They are not
connected to each other.
So, yes you can use them, and you don't even have to tape off the unused
pin.
