WOT boost

Hi everybody-
I've just about got my '84 urquattro dialed in, however.....when I
accelerate under WOT, the boost does not feel as strong, nor as smooth as
when I'm at less than WOT.  If I'm driving along and give it say 50-75%
throttle, the car just takes off, boost builds quickly, and it feels great.
When I give it WOT, the boost does not feel quite as strong and there are a
couple hiccups as the tach continues to 6000 rpm.  The hiccups are minor,
but they do not occur at less than WOT.  FYI, patient is '84 urquattro w/
k24 turbo, 268/270 cam, IA chip.  I live in Denver at 5300 feet and I have a
modded wastegate with a stiffer spring(IA?).  My first thought was WOT
switch--but I have received some input that this may not be it.  I have
recently refreshed and soldered the air temp sensor and also refreshed the
fuel pump elec line and added a fuel pump relay (both really helped overall
performance).  Frequency valve set to apprx 43-50% range.  Any input or BTDT
appreciated.
