Power windows don't work

What could be causing the rear power windows to not work? The light in
the switches work, it goes on/off when I use the button in the
driver's door. It doesn't look like jammed cables, not both windows..
I can't hear the window motor trying to run either.. How can this
happen? The switch is illuminated by the same cable that runs to the
motor, right? And, this applies to _both_ rear windows.. The car in
question is a '90 200TQ20v..
