Sorry to play the ignorant yank..

The point was that even in the land of the free and fair, as it were,
where we have a specific law that was written to prevent car makers from
claiming to warranty their products and then screw the buyer because he
didn't buy TheSpecialHeadlamp(TM), you need to talk with the service
manager before you modify the car. If he'll let you go, then great. If he
won't, go someplace else.

Down here the law is supposed to protect you, but odds of you winning the
legal fight before you grow weary and poor are low.

In any case, do it before something brakes and your faced with
eithertrying to force them to honor their warranty or lose a bundle of
money.
