I went to look at an car for sale in the auto trader today. I'm posting
this so that you don't end up wasting your time as I did. The seller lied
to my father and I about the car, we tripped him up on the following:

Problems with the car:
3 different stories on why he's selling it
Runs on 4 cylinders "probably wires"
Both Calipers, rear parking brake seized
RR caliper, completely siezed
Dash lights work..then they don't.
Anti-lock brake light on..then off..then on.
Drivetrain noise is bad.
Shift Linkage worn out
Body has "original paint". No, actually that's a repaint.
"Car may not start easily, it hasn't been run for a long while" -> Wait,
car starts on first crank...pop the hood and 'Surprise!' the intake
manifold is HOT (meaning, when I called and said we'll come look at it in
the next four hours . When we pointed this out he stumbled quite a bit to
get around the issue.
Told me on the phone he just replaced the "Catalisor". -> Wait, no. In
person he says he replaced it ten months ago.
He will tell you on the phone that the $3800 asking price is certified, but
in person it's not. It was "certified ten months ago when I bought the car".
Lowest price he will go is $3500.
Body is straight. Interior is not badly worn. Both my father and I have
SERIOUS doubts that the 240,000km claimed is the truth.

THE LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT WARNING: For $3800 he will certify and
emissions pass the car - we DO NOT believe he will do this legitimately and
honestly! You have been warned!

HTH someone!

-Dave
