Cover under engine.

After a shop left mine off, I "quattro'ed" over the birm of snow at the end
of my driveway, which was scooped up by the plow, and without the
"belly-pan" in place, the sharp snow-and-ice birm ruptured an oil line under
the engine, causing oil to splatter onto the hot exhaust, and then catching
fire, causing $3,500 worth of insurance-covered damage to the engine
compartment.

Since then I will not at any cost do without the belly pan.

Do *you* absolutely need it? Well, the car drives just fine without it. I
suppose you don't *need* the hood, or the fenders either...

YMMV
