Alloy wheels - slow air leaks.

After years of leaky wheels I resolved the problem....for a while anyway.

A year or two ago I spent an afternoon at a friends shop removing the
tires from the rims, cleaning them up and sealing on the 5KS. To clean
the rims I left them on the tire machine sans skins (this way you can
spin the wheel while it's locked onto the machine) sprayed gasket remover
around the sealing lip, wiped it off, sanded the lip well and used a
whizzer on the tough lip spots (curb/pothole scars.) Cleaned the tire
lips with thinner and a stiff brass wire brush. When I remounted the
tires I gloped the sealer on thickly (the professional sealer that has a
camel on label) on both the wheel lip and the tire lip. After mounting I
balanced them....and used the hammer on weights...sealing goop was
bubbling where I put in the hammer on weights...as soon as sealing goop
dried leak stopped.

I have been looking for a source for stick on weights...but have not
found one yet. If anyone knows a source please let me know as I need
some.
Luckily the sealer worked well to seal the weights on the 5KS, but it did
not work as well on the 200TQA wheels, the wheels still have a very slow
leak at the wheel weights.

And yes, I did use the wheel profile gauge to select the hammer on
weights.
