PPS. When I pumped up the low tire luchtime, I squeezed the trigger on the
air chuck a couple of times first and low and behold, could see water vapour
(it's about -4C here) and a couple of drops of water dribbled out of the
chuck. Did it at the gas station next to work--their compressor is inside
(warm) and the hose is outside (cold). For what it's worth, have also tried
the wire brush on the spinning rim trick (with gobs of bead sealer) and it's
an effective method--will work for a year or so. Prevention is the best
medicine and if you can get dry air into your tires, all the better.
Someone dropped me a line stating he has heard of places where they fill
your tires with pure nitrogen as opposed to air---I've never heard of it but
it may be the answer.
