I know but it tells you something when they go off on a tirade and curse
(the ex-Audi mechanic), or tell you to buy something *better* (the
independent, reputable German car shop).

On the plus side, I am turning into a resourceful sidewalk-warrior, having
fun (most of the times) and saving money.

Heck, if they don't want my money...
