Policemen: "What's the speed limit on the xxx, sir?"

Me:  "70 mph"

Him: "Would you care to estimate how much faster you were going?"

Me: "About 30?"

Him: "We have a calibrated speedometer, sir.  At the moment you steamed past, it was reading
101.8 mph.  Shall we settle for 115 in your case?"

Me: "I can't argue"

Him: "Good.  Now - we're not out tonight looking for speeding motorists.  We're after real
criminals, so you're in luck.  Don't do it - it's not worth it.  Now - would you take me up to
where my colleague has stopped your friend?"

[Drove him up as requested.  His colleague was breathalysing 'my friend']

"Right.  Remember - it's not worth it.  Good evening."

Two weeks ago yesterday, somewhere in England.  A Vauxhall Cavalier V6 with some very
expensive electronics.

And yes, I have a witness.
