Jan,
Have you been able to confirm that the ignition module is ok? Had that go
out on an '86 5000S (non-TQ) a while back, and was quite confusing to both
myself and the shop for a while.

I got home from work today and found my wife's 87 5KTQ had died in the
driveway shortly after she started it. We're in the middle of a blizzard
and
I can't get the car in the shop. I checked the obvious and there is 12
volts
at the coil but no spark from the hi tension lead at the coil. I checked
the
ETKA and it shows the same ignition coil for both the 87 5K & my 91 2C so I
figured I would try a quick swap to verify the bad coil before the sun
disappeared. Only the 20V has a 3 spade connector and the 10V has a 2 spade
connector so that didn't work. A quick check of the archives references
some
problems with the power module.
Any BTDT's. Coil, module, sensors?
TIA, Jan Lahtonen
