Thanks everyone, I learned something new. My Bentley Manual (page 25.83)
states that once the ignition switch is turn off, the codes are lost but
doesn't mention the ability to get the code by cranking the engine. Since
the switch has been on & off numerous time since the engine died, I didn't
think that dumping the codes was an option.
So, I cranked over the engine, ran the codes and get a 2113, Hall Sensor.
Prior to that I had conducted all the Bentley tests on pages on the ignition
module and Hall Sensor.
All readings are within specs however the brittle plastic on the connector
broke while I was unplugging the connector on the distributor.
I just ran out of daylight but tomorrow I will pull the distributor and do
some more inspecting & testing.
Thanks again, Jan
