Mine too, the clicking sound is from under the dash and I make it go away by
adjusting the heat level on the seat in either direction until it stops.
Fixing this involves cleaning or replacing the seat heater relays under the
dash, I believe.

Is this only from a stop?  My rear diff lockswitch (next to handbrake) is
very sensitive and when it 'accidentally' turns on the ABS system is
disabled independently of the ABS switch on the dashboard and it has no
effect.  Look for the light on the rear diff lock switch to be on if it
happens again, and if so, just turn off the diff lock.

Just guesses, of course . . .  and sorry I can't help you with the engine
problem.
