1990 200tqw- Transmission Mounts

I have a small thunk in my drive line when I start off and a little
vibration in the low gears.  I think I need to realign the drive shaft.  But
how do you know if the transmission mounts are OK.  I mean where the
mounting bracket ties into the undercarriage.  The rubber bushing seems to
have a large disc like washer held on by a nut.  But the washer does not
contact the bottom of the bushing.  I cannot find anything in the Bentley on
this.  Thanks for the comments and help.
