Maybe Brett won't like this news...my coupe quattro turbo conversion

Fellow listers,

After a friend of mine trashed his Audi 200 turbo 10v  (Euro version with 
200HP) when he had promised to give me the engine before he trashed it, I 
started to look for an engine for my turbo conversion...I already have a 
MC1 short block but no head, no turbo, no manifolds, nothing else but the 
block, crank, pistons and rods actually...
So I started to try to source a MC2 or a 1B engine (the 1B has 8.6:1CR and 
is the same engine as the urq MB)...no luck for me as when I'm looking for 
something, no one has it and when I already have one, offers start to pour 
around me....doh!
Then I put an ad on www.audicoupe.de saying that I was looking for a 3B 
complete motor, even with a bad headgasket or something like that....a few 
offers starting at 1000 USD and one guy willing 1200 Euros for the engine 
with all accessories (about 1100 USD)...expensive me says because I'm 
stilll a student on a budget, so I start discussing the price with the guy 
and he says he'll drop the price but not very much and he'd rather sell the 
complete car for 1400 Euro (about 1200 USD)....
I ask for some pics, the car's mileage, if it is a wreck and got his 
answer...178.000 kms, slight damage on the front left fender, air 
conditionner, heated front and rear seats, electrically controlled driver's 
seat, and a very low and stiff suspension (you'll see it when I'm done 
posting the pics to a website), he says it drives well and all it'd need 
would be an exhaust system...well, I don't care about that because I'll 
part it...my wife made me promise to part it and I didn't want to but I 
have to because I'll need (even a small) part of my investment back....so I 
think I'll go and buy it tomorrow or next week-end if I can't find a second 
car for tomorrow...

Now, I need some BTDT from the listers that have already performed a 
complete 3B swap, I'd like to know what downpipe I can use in my car ('85 
NA coupe quattro) knowing that I'd like to use an UR-q exhaust system and I 
won't be using the 200's cats as my car doesn't need to have them (and it's 
better not to have them to avoid inspection troubles)....
