oil pressure gauge problem?

Hi all,
My '93 90CS Quattro has 3 round gauges for oil
temperature, oil pressure and voltmeter. For the oil
pressure gauge, Owner manual said that it should be
1.8 bar. When I start the car, the reading of oil
pressure is max. (about 5 bar). After drive for a
while at the normal engine temperature, it is still at
5 bar. However, it is back to about 2.4 bar - 3.5 bar
if the car is stopped, or in neutral? Do you have the
similar problem on your oil pressure gauge? Please
advice.
