Oh yes, I forgot to mention that apparently the Audi garage stripped the cylinder that the manual crank goes in the last time this happened. I know it goes in hard (what were Audi engineers thinking?) but the crank just spins.

The update is this AM I rolled out extra early to present myself at the only remaining Audi garage WITH non-vacationing techs in my neck of the woods. They closed it, but said I need a new motor - only because of the stripped cylinder which, if I don't get it, means no manual closing ever. Hard to believe the demise of this little cylinder is reason to scrap the whole $ 450.00 motor. :<

This bad amp is going to end up costing me about $ 1,500.00 for the 3 visits to the 2 dealers and various replacement parts, not to mention the cost of the replacement amp. After this all I can afford musically is a washtub and a couple of spoons. Thanks guys.

Diane
