91 100- alt lite & dies

I recently sold our 91 100 and now the new owner is having trouble.
The car, while driving, gets an alt. warning lite & dies. I rebuilt the alt. 
for him, and he has a new battery. The belt is also new.
What would be the place to start diagnosing? I don't have the car & he's 
unhappy.
