I think all of the "problems" we all post about might scare off any lurkers,
and I think we should be screaming from every roof-top how much we really
love our cars...

DAVE!!!!!
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?????
There's absolutely NO WAY I will agree to what you're proposing! Just
imagine the results!
Scores of formerly "Audifraid" people would now start to seriously consider
the purchase of used Audis - thereby driving the used car prices into a
range that is more deserving - making it completely unrealistic for me (and
others?) to upgrade our old cars to 10-15 year old A8's and TT's when the
time comes.
No, you won't catch me on any rooftops, telling folks how much I adore my
Indigo Blue '90 V8 Quattro, with the custom 2-tone black-on-Grey leather
interior, with 4 seats heaters, power front seats (driver's with memory),
power everything-else, full-time 4-wheel drive, and enough power under the
hood to astonish several teenage rice-cookers, which now has over 160K miles
on it, cost me only $8K, and is running flawlessly.
There's NO WAY I am going to share with the blissfully ignorant how I gently
rub my hand over the curvature of the A-pillar in awe of the beautiful
design, or gently stroke the dashboard while cruising down the highway at
9Mph above the posted speed limit. Now would I share with them the feeling
of complete oneness with the car, while thrashing it around the curves of a
country back-road at what those who are unfamiliar with the unmatched
performance characteristics of the Quattro might view as dangerously high
speeds. And I certainly would not tell anyone about how much room it has,
compared to other "mid-sized" sedans, and how comfortably rested you feel
after driving 22 hours straight, from MI to FL, due to the "ergonomic
design" of the interior and seats.
Nosirree, you'll never catch me sharing any of the pure joy, and pride of
ownership which inherently comes with an Audi. If I did, and enough others
did the same, I'd never be able to afford another like her - err, it.
