VW/AUDI Wire terminals AMP

Scott,
   It seems like most connectors in Audis from this vintage are Amp, not 
sure about current models, but if wouldn't surprise me.  You can search the 
products at www.amp.com.  If you find the catalog to be a bit staggering, 
take heart, I've been able to make very little sense of it myself.  The 
number of parameters is astounding, and amp won't sell direct so you then 
have to find a stocking distributor.  Can you describe the contact, I think 
I've narrowed down a few.  For instance the flat socket types that are in 
many connectors in my type 89 seem to be amp timer contacts.  If anyone is 
purchasing any of these, I'd be interested in knowing your source.  Also 
anyone who has utilized these contacts, I'd like to know if you've been able 
to find appropriate tooling for the proper B style crimp.  Amp tooling is 
very expensive, and for some reason very specialized.
