I think Freightliner must buy whatever headlights are on special
when they do a production run- I've seen Pontiac Bonneville lights
on a truck as well as MB ML-Class lights. I'll keep an eye out for
type 44 lamps. Must be scary driving an 80-ton rig with DOT type 44
headlights. :-O

Freightliner also uses type 44 ~1986 headlight bezels on some of their
trucks of aproximatly the same year.
   Fun to watch for.
