I'd steer away from those pullers that work on ALL foreign (and
domestic) cars. If you feel you must use one in lieu of using a press,
stick to the "Schley" tool which is designed specifically for VW/Audi.
Even then, you need to be very specific. The one I rented a few yrs ago
work beautifully on my VW but it didn't have the correct "cup" for my
5ktq so I had to improvise a bit. Again, those bearings require lots of
muscle to press out w/ those tools. You could be turning and hammering
for hours before that sucker comes out and then do it again to press the
new one in. You could use power tools but I recall that the
manufacturer advised against it. Best bet is to take the assembly out
and take it to a machine shop for around $25.

Thomas,
I've been keeping an eye on these too. The Hub Tamer which claims to
work
on all foreign and domestics is on sale for 2XX at Ontool.com. Ive
bought a
number of things from Ontool before and would highly recommend them.
Free
shipping is standard. Hope this helps, and if anyone has practical
comments
on the Hub Tamer vs. Hub Shark style tools, I'd love to hear them as I'm
considering the purchase myself. Thanks.
