1981 I-5 on unleaded?

It should have no problem running on unleaded. I once read a press 
statement from VW that said that ALL VW engines from 1947 and ALL Audi 
engines from 1973 is ok to be run on unleaded fuel. The engine in my 
aircooled 1973 VW Variant has been run on unleaded for 80k kms without 
any problem.
