The Schley screw does deteriorate over time, but my tool is still on
the original and I've hung a 5 ft pipe on the breaker bar.
It's very important to grease the thread and thrust bearings as well
then clean it up afterwards or the dirt that fell on the thread
forms a grinding paste.
