Misfiring I5-T / 2nd ECU-ground-wire on IM Where does it lead ?

Hi.
I've noticet that there om later models than mine (87) tends to have two brown wires mounted on the IM.
My question is this:
Is it simply a seccond wire running in parallel with the other, ie. is it simply 2wo wires _from_ the same point on the IM to the
_same_ connector and pin, on the ECU.
My reason for asking, is that i'm hunting a wireproblem causing misfires, and leaving a totally confused ECU, where 'ignition-cycle'
(causing a reset) sometimes is the only way to restore its sanity.
One comes to think of electrical noise, bad gnd-conn. , maybe a sensor on the flywheel..
It is (probably) not:
the distributor, the dist. cap.
the plug wires, the head, block, injectors, FP, FP-relay.
wich are new.
Any thoughts/ideas/experiences are _very_ welcome !
TIA
