Arguing with mechanic

> How hard of a job is it to change the evaporator on a Coupe GT? Where is it located? My mechanic is saying it is a 3.5 hr job because you have to drop the dahs and gain access to it. He is also saying that it is not a "factory" system because the hoses don't have crimp connectors and have clamp on connectors. I'm beginning to think this guy has no idea what he is talking about.

that might be a good guess.

the evap is behind the glovebox.  You do not need to undo a single
dashboard nut or disturb the dash, at least to remove it.

About 5 screws will drop the glovebox, and lose some of it's unique
hardware, and you'll be staring at the evap.

someone mentioned doing the heater core at the same time - good idea. 
the evap blocks easy access to the core, with it out the core is a snap,
as these things go.  Install new hoses to the core, as well...
