Just a shot in the dark but wasn't there a thread about carbon deposits on V6's
that was caused by frequent short/non spirited drives?? Although the carbon
deposits are on the piston tops and the valves, could the rings be stuck/gummed
up in the two cylinders that are showing poor compression? The carbon would
cause pinging/detonation and retard at times, perhaps even fuel washing the
cylinders down due to the fouled plugs. I've seen it in 'murican cars before
but I don't know if there is a "head on" cure. Just some thoughts..........
(Since my cars all seem to spend most of their waking moments around 5 grand,
I doubt that I'll be experiencing that problem!!)
