near mishap w/ jacks - setup jackstands

The key is also to have jack stands with a wide base so that the motion from
falling from the jack; or even if it is directly on jack stands; does not
cause them to tip over.
I can speak from experience; 20 years ago I was installing a clutch in a
Vette(not mine) and was pushing the trans back in and the force caused the
stands to rock and tip over. I got pinned under there for a while but was
able to get out after only a few broke items.

Get the most stable; largest bases that you can on jack stands.

After that I installed a lift and feel much better. My Audis seem to live on
the hoist.
