       I replaced it recently in my '90 100. I believe there is sufficient
room to replace just the electrical portion if you remove the instrument
panel. As I had replace the mechanical portion, I had to drop the steering
column. That was simpler than it sounds. I spent about 5 hours before I found
a web article on how to do it and received an e-mail from the writer. I wish
I had thought to remove the column initially. I would like to give credit
where due to the author of the article, but can't recall the name. E-mail me
direct and I will find it.
