turbo studs

Hi Brandon,

I had to buy a stud tool from Sears to get the large studs out.  The large
studs have a non-threaded area, which the stud tool gripped.  I reused the
large studs.

The small studs for the oil lines were too small for the stud tool.  Sears
had only one large sized stud tool.  I wound up using vice grips.  The small
studs are all thread, so I mangled some thread.  My dealer would have needed
to special order the small studs, so he pulled the size out of ETKA and sent
me to a local screw place -- Tacoma Screw in my case.  You are bound to have
a screw and fastener place that has generic metric fasteners somewhere
nearby.  I wound up getting the correct size and thread pitch, but the small
studs were a few mm too long.

I'm sorry I am not near an ETKA; hopefully someone else can pull the small
and large stud sizes for you.  You can also take the both turbos into a
screw place and I'm sure they can figure out what you need. Metric stuff
comes in standard sizes.

More than likely they'll have a stud tool for you to buy, if you wish.  I
bought the tool because I like tools :-)  I also figured I might need it on
another project.  Without the tool it might be difficult to tighten the
large studs without marking them, even if you bought new large studs.

BTW, the double nut trick did not work for me.
