Baby update

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about Baby. It reminded me of why
I love this list, everyone is so gracious with their time and patient in
their explanations. A couple of years ago when I need something from Canada,
I think I got at least a dozen responses and my question didn't have anything
to do with Audis or cars in general, for that matter. Its like being part of
an extended family. So a very big thank you once again.

Lots of folk gave suggestions and asked questions. So for now, this is my
status: The car seems to drive exactly as it always did, no more or less
peppy than before. It seems just as smooth and quiet as well. I also checked
for blue smoke upon startup and didn't see any. Just to make sure I asked my
(male) neighbor to look ;-) and he didn't see any either (whew!) So, I will
continue to watch oil consumption carefully and come back here with
recommendations made by my mechanic at the end of this "experiment." At that
time, I will also get a second opinion.

I am much calmer now, thankfully. I originally wrote the day I got the
dreaded phone call. Today, as I was driving home I hit my favorite strip of
road - a winding patch on Halls Mills off of Elton-Adephia Road (G.T. you
might be familiar with this spot) and lucky me, no one was in front of me.
One of those times, Baby gives the most awesome performance and justifiably I
forgot to be mad at Audi(s).
