I find it interesting that the author singles out Audi's as an expensive car
to maintain.
I know first hand that Volvo's are anything but cheap plus they have
ridiculously low timing belt intervals (45-50k).
Although all of my BMWs have been older and maintained by me, my neighbor
cringes everytime his 528i needs to go in for work.
Hell, my father's Cadillacs are quite expensive too, not to mention our VW
brethren.
I'll agree that newer Audi's in particular are complex vehicles, but they
definitely don't have a corner on the market.
If you want a cheap car to maintain, I'd look for a deal on a '72 Dodge
Dart.
