Tough Electrical question???

I successfully replaced (i.e.ditched) the Digital Dash in my 87 CGT.

There is only one weird thing that I can't figure out.

All the idiot lights are now connected to 12V leds on the panel, and they all
work fine with the exception of what I thought to be the Alternator Idiot
light. It's behavior is rather strange.

When I turn the engine on the light is off, after something like 30/40 seconds
it comes on and stays on. It is listed on the map for the digital dash as "12V
Alt", and I thought it would be the alternator idiot light.

Yes, it can be the alternator working and the cicuitry at the digital dash
could have a provision like: "If it isn't 12V then turn on the idiot light for
the alternator".

If it is the case I can resolve it with a relay, but what about the delay???
