I recommend making yourself a pressure bleeder.  I did and it made
brake bleeding such a easy job.  One could be made for about $30 if
you shop carefully for its parts.  Check out this site for info:

Also, you should pull and wedge something on the brake proportioning
valve lever to keep the valve open while you bleed the brakes.  The valve is
under the car, near the right rear wheel on the type 81/85 fwd cars.
It connects to the suspension beam via a spring.

I didn't pull the vacuum line and it worked fine.  I wouldn't worry about
that too much.

If these brake lines visibly swell when you step on the brakes, then yes.
I would probably replace the lines anyway if these are the original lines.
They are very old now.
