One to throw back

In my travels yesterday, I see a black Audi 80/90 at a local one-bulb-cave
used car dealer.
Go around the block, stop and take a look.
It's a 1988 80, FWD, 5 speed. Which would have made it a pleasant little
car except for a few minor items. The paint job was done with a broom, but
the broom got stolen half way through, so it was finished up with a paint
roller. This car's paint didn't only have runs, sags and orange peel, it
had cellulite! There was a 4" diameter chrome tip on the tailpipe, nicely
rusted and carboned up. Everything under the hood was rusty and nasty, with
various wires and hoses waving in the breeze. Then I opened a door . . .
whoever owned this car was a chainsmoker, and not just cigarettes - big,
fat cigars! The inside of the car was utterly filthy, dirt and stains
everywhere. The left under-dash cover was in the back seat, and the wiring
looked like Spanish moss. According to the dealer, since this is a low
mileage car (106K showing), everything would work just like new.
Punchline: $3,995, firm. As is.
"Wanna take it for a ride?"
"Well it's for my wife and she wants an automatic transmission, but thanks
anyway!"
(Make escape.)
How can people do this to what used to be a nice little car?
Best Regards,
Mike Arman
