4kq engine cut out solved

Hi all,
Looks like the ignition switch is the culprit here -- and I have only 4 keys
on the ring!
It appears that the ignition switch is either dirty or something inside it is
cracked/not working properly. If I wiggle the key while it is in the
ignition, I can get the engine to die instantly. Repeated this several
times. So, looks like the other lister dude was right.
I'm theorizing that the tach needle bounce that I get when turning the switch
to "on" is coming from a voltage spike that results from a little arcing
inside the switch. If I carefully insert the key and gently push it away
from the steering column while turning it to "on", I don't get the tach
bounce.
Many thanks to the 5k lister that suggested I look into this.
