Thanks for the additional information.
According to our data, the PH2870A is the recommended Fram oil filter for
the 1985 Audi 4000 Quattro 1.8 and 2.2L
engines. The PH2870A contains the anti drain valve feature required for
this application.
The anti drain back valve is located underneath the filter tapping plate.
If you carefully insert a blunt tip, such as
a ball point pen, into the small holes surrounding the large threaded hole
in the center of the tapping plate, you can
feel the anti drain back valve.
