When the drivers side visor in my 1989 200q Avant refused to stay up I
replaced it with a vinyl visor from a 1985 5000. Sure, I gave up the
lighted mirror of the 1989, but the visor now stays up nicely because it is
much lighter without the heavy lighted mirror. The color of the 1985 visor
actually matched very well too.
While I was taking the visor out of the 1985 5000 in the u-pull-it, I was
eyeing the vinyl headliner. As has been reported here before, the vinyl
headliners do not sag like the later cloth/foam ones. I may go back and get
that headliner sometime if my push-pin headliner repair stops working. So
far the push-pin repair has looked presentable for over 2 years.
