A specialized pressure gauge (manometer) that is used in the HVAC field could
measure the flow, and pressure drop through the orifice...some Filter Co's.
have this to check filters and fittings.....it takes the static pressure on
one side and the operating pressure (= resistance or WG drop) at the
other...you are able to see a marked drop off of flow when you reach the
point where velocity is so great turbulence becomes the big problem, and
hence you have reached the orifices Max flow rate. I could be used to test
the whole intake.....like a flow bench
of course you need a calibrated flow device.....
