Josh,

The 20 valve is a wonderful engine. Probably the biggest weak point is the
brakes, which just aren't up to the performance of the rest of the car. But
that's easily solved :)

You should spend some time on www.s-cars.org, www.urs4.com, and
www.bira.org. You'll learn a lot about the S6 there...

With regard to pricing, I bought my S6 avant from them just over a year ago
for $20.5K, negotiated down from I don't remember what, and including $1500
in needed clutch work that I had done elsewhere. So the effective price then
was $22K. You should be able to buy this car for $20K today from them, maybe
$21K.
