So, when I was reassembling the car, I must've subconsciously knew that it didn't matter which axle I put on which side!

Yeah, that's the ticket. :P

Sounds like I could have saved myself some time and labor on Friday night.

I'm gettin' pretty good at swapping axles and struts and such now. :-)

Looking at TPC's website, http://www.thepartsconnection.com/5000/5000d.htm#D1
I can see left and right are interchangeable for non-ABS cars.  No listing for ABS-equipped cars, unless it's another one of those things I can't see that is in front of my eyes.

So, the good news is that I probably didn't do any damage to my tranny or strut housing or wheel bearing.  Just some old stuck struts threw me a curve, among other things.
