installing awd in a golf ?

which chasis are you looking to get? there is a place in canada that will c=
onvert a A4 chasis golf to a 4 motion. you have to replace the entire floor=
 pan to do it.
the other thing is that if you try to rally something like that you will pr=
obably be in some kind of open class which could get crazy trying to keep u=
p with those guys. also a conversion like that kind of offsets the cheap in=
itial cost of the car to the point where you would be better off getting a =
ur quattro or a mazda 323 gtx etc.

there are lots of FWD rally cars out there, i would guess that most of them=
 are FWD. and it would put you in something that an average person can comp=
ete in and have fun without spending tons of money

Has any one tried or has seen it done ?

I am thinking of buying a Golf for rallying beacuse the parts for it are
dirt cheap, so obviesly it would make a great rally car.  But unless you get
the one with synchro or 4motion (these are extremly rare) you are suck with
fwd...

comments suggestions ?
