installing awd in a golf ?

I co-drive for Art Burmeister, the car is a '88 GTI, Grp 2.  Group 2 allows FWD with 16 valves, 2 liters.  Fewer valves allows more displacement, 2.5 liters if I remeber correctly.

With FWD you can use approximately 200hp.

You go 4wd, you are in with the big boys!  You're gonna need a turbo.

300hp is usable.  The big boys have 400+.

Don't think a golf w/ 4wd is available in the US, otherwise I'd be driving one.
