B&O doesn't represent the audio high end either. Some of the company's
products are quite excellent acoustically, but theyve really made their name
with the design (and to some extent functionality) rather than the
acoustics.

B&0 cartridges *cannot* scratch a record. When I sold hifi, I used to demo
this by taking the tone arm and rubbing the cartridge back and fort across
an album. The tracks would remain undamaged by this due to the design of the
cartrige - great for households with kids. My B&O linear tracking turntable,
for instance, adds a zero tracking angle effect...not that I can hear the
difference on my 20 year old vinyl...

I've also got two sets of old B&O bookshelf speakers. Very clean and
accurate in their day. Not what I'd buy today, tho. Give me an open room and
a set of Magneplanars hooked up to my Adcom separates, a good jazz album or
3, and I'm a happy guy :)

Mandatory Audi content - Most OE car audio sucks. This includes, but
certainly is not limited to, every Bose system I've ever listened to in an
Audi. The system in our 200 was only listenable when the bass was turned all
the way down, and the treble all the way up. Not good.

I did one good car stereo...ADS component speakers and powerplates, plenty
of power, in a Volvo wagon. The system sounded pretty good, but I never got
around to adding the subwoofer it needed. Oh well.
