I think this point is well taken and squares up with Huw's final
point that the electronics can get prety nasty. The DIY EFI units seem
pretty flexible, essentially able to control all the parameters that
constitute "chipping" and engine. Seem. Seems to me. There's still
about 40% ignorance in that seems to me. I'm not sure how to handle the
ignition piece if a DIY EFI unit is employed.
I scanned the site this a.m., but I don't remember if Javad's unit
does fuel and ignition both. The megasquirt unit referenced in the "EFI
. . . " thread does only fuel at this point, though there are seems to
be a companion ignition unit in the works. The megasquirt project is
derivative of an effort called EFI332 which requires expertise I'm
unable/unwilling/can't squeeze into my head/life/temporal plane right
now. However, the stuff is mature and bolsters my opinion of the
robustness of the megasquirt.
The lack of an ignition piece does not trouble me now as I don't
foresee the time flow, cache flow and S/O credits to do the project
until next summer.
Thanks and credit to Brandon Rogers for launching this thread (and
the others of the same name it spawned [poor thread etiquette, that])
because I've not yet seen any technical hurdles that can't be overcome
with existing and understandable (_my_ level of understanding anyway)
technology already floating around.
Any thoughts on (in)compatability of motor mount hardware and
locations?
thanksOkayBye
