Okay, I'll admit, I've autocrossed the 200Q too, mostly to get a feel for
tires. It's not bad
for a big pig, but there is an awful lot of waiting for things to take a
set on it compared
to my GTi (SCCA Solo2 Stock), hence for small track things, I'd rather
use a small, track car....

Really, the big difference is in transitions (which is mostly what
autocross is, rare to find
many constant at the limit cornering situations that last for more than a
second or two),
the lower mass of the GTi means it can simply just change direction, the
Audi must actually
take time to transfer the load from tire to tire. More mass means more
time for any given
amount of force to change the direction, greater wheelbase means slower
yaw rates, and
all of the roll, even with H+R's and Bilsteins means there is a lot of
waiting for the car. I've
spent too much time in a car better suited for Autocross (15 yrs, several
regional championships)
so that the Audi just doesn't suit the cause. It's still a great car,
it's just not it's forte.
