EFI question- what about the ISV?????

Or you could just use an auxillary air valve that
slowly closes as the engine warms up.  I was trying to
ditch the fuel ECU on my car, and used one of these
with good results.  You can find them on most early
80's fuel injected VWs, Saabs, BMWs, Audis.  The only
thing it doesn't help with is idle speed when the
radiator fan or AC comes on.  I only have to worry
about the radiator fan, and you can hardly tell when
it's on.
