head units

As an aside to the discussion of head units and especially the
discussion related to Blaupunkt recently, I have a question or 2
regarding mixing and matching audio products.
I had a Toronto head unit, but it was stolen earlier this year. I got it
for a good deal some years back. I also managed to get hold of a brand
new Blaupunkt 10-disc CD changer, absolutely new, for roughly what is
today $30 (or less, depending on currency). I have all the cabling and
ISO connectors to hook up the changer and Toronto, except ofcourse
actually having a Toronto.
The Toronto is rare over here. Just can't find it anymore. There are
several for sale in the USA, but ofcourse there's the tuner problem
between Euro and US tuners and my posts a few months back didn't get me
an answer on whether the Toronto has an internal switch for changing the
tuner.
So now I'm faced with finding a Toronto/London in Europe or even one of
the other models that can work with my CD changer. Difficult task, even
though there are plenty of nice units on ebay.de (I just get no replies
from any of the sellers).
I want to know if anyone has information on interfacing different
manufacturer head units with the likes of the Blaupunkt CD changers. I
don't see myself getting rid of the changer as I won't get any other one
for the same price or condition (new).
I also prefer the older German units for their understated looks and I
do like the ability to switch the colour to that which matches the
interior. Personal preference really.
Any help would be greatly appreciated regarding interfacing various
manufacture brand head units and CD changer packages.
Sorry for putting this up in this thread.
