A few minor items of note:

-on Sunday, attendees can try to meet up with everyone around 12:30
or so to discuss possible group dinner plans with us NEQ folk(Mike
Caleo, myself, Steve Earley, Alan and Wendy Weintraub, Jay, etc. at
the least.) If you're around Sunday, stop by the tent and say
hello(we're on the hill overlooking turn 2/3; the middle of the large
white tents.) If you're attending Monday, you won't be able to hang
out in the tent with us, but we'll step outside to say hello of
course :-)

-Our very own lister Gary(GMBCHEF) is pinch-chef-ing for the Champion
Motorsports team!(we joked that we can now take a pic of Galati/Bell
on track, and say "Powered by Sunocco and Gary" :-) Apparently their
caterer is a friend of his, and she ended up short on manpower. Go
Gary!(and if they loose, we can blame him. Food poisoning! ;-)

-Former 200q20v-er and current S4 owner Greg Amy raced in the SCCA
races mid-afternoon...he was a big hit with the announcers, who
mentioned him about 5 times throughout the day as the "low budget"
racer; Greg drove his track car(Nissan NX-2000) to the event,
followed by their "transporter"(early 80s Caravan :-), which
apparently impressed the daylights out of the announcers. Neil
Swanson(part of Greg's crew) bragged about getting a tour of the
Champion Motorsports transporter("Whoo. Wow. And they can fit THREE
cars up top!") Greg: "Want to get a tour of my transporter? Here.
You can fit THREE people in the back here. Ok, tour over." Greg
started out 25th out of 37(I think) and after round 1, moved up to
starting in 12th if I'm not mistaken. I don't recall his finishing
place, but I believe he did better than hoped(he said he'd be happy
to finish middle of the field.)

-Bell set a decent time on the qualification lap(one warmup lap, then
one full lap around the course, by yourself), but quickly dropped to
8th(doh!) Galati placed 3rd for the starting grid order.

-Tagging along with Jon Linkov, I got the chance to meet Paul
Lambert(head of Stasis Engineering and the team's driver for their A4
V6 Speed Touring Car entry) and listen in on an interview Jon did
with him. Afterwards, Paul recounted attending an Q-club banquet and
giving a talk; apparently, the crew was less than pleased, because
the car had blown a head gasket or somesuch; he casually mentioned it
to the audience, and the next morning, a dozen or so attendees were
scouring the area for a replacement headgasket, and found one for the
team in no time flat. The crew felt a little better about Paul
abandoning them :-)
